Cleveland Park Tackle Box Outpost Opening Tonight, More!

R. Lopez, 6/1

1) Cleveland Park: A day later than planned, the new Tackle Box outpost officially opens in Cleveland Park this evening. A power outage issue had delayed the restaurant's last inspection, but that's all squared away now. This expanded and stroller-friendly version of the Georgetown seafood restaurant (seen in the photo above with a crazy line from its Wednesday friends-and-family night) is going to be a lot like the original — from the nautical decor to the lobster rolls. But there will be some notable menu changes. The lobster pots will be customizable at the new location, the children's menu is expanded to include quesadillas and mac&cheese, and the draft beer choices will jump from one to six. The Connecticut Avenue Tackle Box is also adding ice creams and shakes, plus Connecticut's spin on the lobster roll (served hot with drawn butter). Status: Opens today at 5 p.m. 3407 Connecticut Ave NW; website

2) Adams Morgan: Zabb Modern Asian opened its doors this week on 18th Street across from Lauriol Plaza. Thrillist writes about the modern Asian restaurant with battered-tilapia-and-blue-crab sushi rolls, soft-shell crab pad thai, yakisoba and a selection of Thai, Chinese and Japanese beers. There's also a pretty expansive rooftop bar. Status: Certified open. 1836 18th St NW; website
