Welcome back to the Shutter. Know of any other restaurant that has met its demise? Let us know.
1) Farragut Square: The Reserve shuttered on L Street yesterday afternoon and in fairly dramatic fashion, too. The Washington Post reports that the tapas restaurant was evicted from its building. Employees sat outside playing cards next to a pile of tables, chairs and other restaurant belongings. [WaPo]
2) Georgetown: Garrett's Restaurant and Railroad Tavern ended its 32-year run earlier this week, posting an RIP note on its website thanking long-time patrons. There's no reason given for the May 30th closure, but the Georgetowner talks to a former Garrett's employee who says he believes it "reflects an ongoing change in the Georgetown area and a shift in the social scene as rent increases and bigger businesses move in."
