ADAMS MORGAN—September is the target opening date for Mellow Mushroom's first DC location. Franchise owner Pooja Mehta says the Atlanta-based pizza chain is renovating the two-story building and its roofdeck, which has caused some delays. And please note that this location is going for a circus theme — as evidenced by a gallery of renderings revealing ticket booths and trapeze artists. Some nice signage has also been completed. CLARENDON—The opening date for Pinkberry Clarendon has been pushed back a week from what was last reported. Now you may mark your calendars for August 5 at 11 a.m. [PLYWOOD]
SHAW—It's pretty much just down to paperwork at Shaw's Tavern, which held a soft opening over the weekend but has yet to open to the public. The restaurant reports on its Facebook page, "unfortunately the DC paperwork process is a bit out of our control, and as soon as it is completed we will open the very same day." [POST-PLYWOOD]
ADAMS MORGAN—Prince of Petworth notes that Duplex Diner is temporarily closed for renovations, but should reopen on July 28. [PLYWOOD]
