DUPONT CIRCLE—Next week, Casa Nonna is going to be busting out a brand new gelato cart that'll be stationed on its prime Dupont Circle sidewalk space from 12 to 6 p.m. for the rest of the summer. They'll have six rotating flavors — to include lemon, stracciatella, and nocciola — paired with housemade biscotti. A single scoop will cost you $3.75 and a double's just a dollar more, though when the cart opens on July 28, it'll all be free from 1 to 2 p.m. Unfortunately, none of this is happening in time for this week's crazy heat wave. PENN QUARTER—The List Are You On It has an update on Enzo Fargione's forthcoming Elisir — namely that the restaurant now hopes to open in late September with a tasting menu, lunch bistro menu and cooking classes. Though the restaurant's website has no menu details yet, it does give some info about the classes, which will include topics like "colorful pastas and their sauces" and "Italian mouthful tapas" for $129. U STREET—The Going Out Gurus dug up a good deal for beer that relies entirely on the failings of another human being. During Sunday's Nationals game, Duffy's Irish Pub is offering cans of PBR, Budweiser and High Life to anyone wearing the team's gear for a price to match Jayson Werth's batting average. That's $2.12 at the moment, they note — and the dude is in a slump. [WaPo]
