Renovations At Asylum; Classic Movie Screenings At Redline

ADAMS MORGAN—The Post reports that Asylum is going to be doing some major renovations starting on Monday, turning its main level into a barbecue bar like American Ice Company. But, no worries, the bar is not closing: owner John Andrade writes on Facebook that the basement level will still be open and even serving weekend brunch. [WaPo, Facebook]

PENN QUARTER—If you like Casablanca and cocktails, Redline has got you covered on August 1 at 7 p.m. The Penn Quarter bar will be screening classic movies on Monday nights throughout August. So, basically like Screen on the Green except with $6 cocktail deals and a discount on appetizers. [EaterWire]

SHIRLINGTON—It came out in April that Cheesetique was bumping The Curious Grape out of its spot in Shirlington, and a few months later ARLnow discovers where the new Curious Grape location is going to be: Shirlington. It will also be bigger and have a wine bar component. [ARLnow]
