Restaurant Week For Vegans; What Is Going On At Jack Rose?

New, 1 comment

U STREET—Next week is Restaurant Week and Eatonville is showing a little love for vegans with options on both their lunch and dinner menus — a shitake lentil burger for lunch and jerk marinated grill tofu for dinner. And there will also be complimentary vegan wine. [EaterWire]

U STREET—Next in the annals of made-up holidays, tomorrow is National Filet Mignon Day. According to a press release from U Street's new steakhouse Lost Society, if you mention that quasi-fact to your server you will get 20 percent off your filet mignon tomorrow. [EaterWire]

FOOD TRUCKS—So maybe launching a food truck serving only hot soup in the middle of summer is a bad idea? Food Truck Fiesta reports that Phonomenon is no more after just one month — though the reasons given are "exhaustion and a bad business partner." [FTF]

ADAMS MORGAN—The Washingtonian checks in on Jack Rose and discovers that the Adams Morgan bar quietly started serving dinner in its main-level dining room about three weeks ago. It's just a limited menu right now and the space will officially open in "early September." [Washingtonian]
