In what is good news for those residing in local food deserts, the DC Central Kitchen is launching a program called Healthy Corners that will provide corner stores with low-cost fresh fruits and vegetables. In a nice touch, they're also throwing in free refrigeration units to hold the produce. DCCK tells the Washington Post they hope to start deliveries as early as next week for wards 5, 7 and 8. [WaPo]
