A local philanthropist is donating $1 million to the Capital Area Food Bank today, allowing the organization to do away with a fee for fresh produce it was forced to implement last month. Explaining his donation, William E. Conway Jr. tells the Washington Post, "I had fresh produce last night with dinner. I had blueberries this morning with my cereal. It’s a luxury for some people. I wanted to try to help." [WaPo]
