Tom Sietsema checks out H Street's new Cajun Creole restaurant TruOrleans for his First Bite column this week and discovers a misnomer. Though the Sazerac and the hot summer air send him to New Orleans, the food yanks him right back: "Springy grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon are dabbed with what the menu calls a 'spicy BBQ sauce'; the accent is so bland, you wouldn't even know it was there if you didn't see it. Again, the blackened fish is dry. Hush puppies go down like raw doughnuts." [WaPo]
