Going Out Gurus Rate Sundevich; The Blogs Are Everywhere

Seems like DC's major critics decided to take it easy this last week of August because there's not much in the way of reviews this week. Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema instead gives us a disjointed snapshot of his inbox. Meanwhile, the Washingtonian's Todd Kliman just blurbed about 10 restaurants where he's eating now at the top of his online chat this week. Fortunately, the Going Out Gurus and the blogs are on it:

Justin Rude checks out Shaw's buzzy new Sundevich for the Washington Post this week, and he finds "a great neighborhood sandwich spot." His favorite of the globally inspired sandwiches is the jerk chicken Kingston, but also notes some quality vegetarian options. The only thing Rude finds to criticize is maybe the bread, which his dining companions found "a little tough." [WaPo]

THE BLOGS: DC-Wrapped Dates goes to Vinoteca and Lavandou; We Love DC takes a first look at Graffiato and a look back at Zest; Mango & Tomato took a food tour of U Street; Borderstan says that "Paula Deen and her love of butter ain’t got nothin’ on Florida Avenue Grill"; and EatMore DrinkMore's operatives check out Mia's Pizzas, El Centro DF and Ripple.
