drew-trautmann-150.jpgFormer Mendocino Grille chef Drew Trautmann is opening a restaurant named District Kitchen in Woodley Park, perhaps as soon as October. According to Tom Sietsema, the chef derived inspiration for the restaurant from Baltimore's acclaimed farm-to-table Woodberry Kitchen — a mighty tall order. They're going for a rustic look in the renovation of the Jandara space, and Trautmann is planning on an American menu with options like duck cracklings with malt vinegar. [WaPo]
