Celebrity chef Bobby Flay tweeted last night a potential opening date for the DC outpost of his burger empire Bobby's Burger Palace: August 16. A rep for the restaurant clarifies that this date is not actually confirmed, as there is still licensing to be resolved (as always), but that is definitely Flay's target. If you recall, they had a job fair just last week.
But if you need something to whet your appetite, the DC menu is available online already and the rep says it's "pretty much final." It includes the same 10 regionally inspired burgers from the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Philadelphia locations — which can be made with beef, ground turkey or chicken breast. They can also be "crunchified" if you like, which basically just means they put potato chips on top. There will also be milkshakes, beer, wine and margaritas, along with your requisite sides and salads. And so the DC burger invasion continues.
