Cajun Experience Hosting White Linen Party; Lou's Has Crabs

ADAMS MORGAN—The Cajun Experience is hosting a pair of white-and-dirty linen events this weekend. On Saturday from 4-6 p.m. chef Thomas Schoborg will do some cooking demos of classic Cajun dishes, then Sunday at 3 p.m. it's all about cocktails like Hurricanes and Sazeracs — plus an Abita flight and access to a Bloody Mary bar. The idea is you wear your white linen on Saturday and then the same dirty linen on Sunday. You should probably still shower, though. Tickets are $40 for both nights or $25 per night. More information here. [EaterWire]

MENUWATCHSweetgreen's salad of the month for August is a spicy watermelon salad. Why is this interesting? Well, it was designed by Spike Mendelsohn, who defeated Tiffany MacIsaac (Birch & Barley) and Casey Patten (Taylor Gourmet) in a competition the salad shop held last month. You can get this salad (which has a sriracha and cucumber basil yogurt dressing) at any of the Sweetgreen locations. [EaterWire]

COLUMBIA HEIGHTSLou's City Bar says it will be serving crabs on Sundays for all of August. You have been notified. [EaterWire]
