Ferran Adrià closed the doors to his acclaimed Spanish restaurant elBulli on July 30th and US speaking engagements have been cropping up ever since in places like San Francisco and Chicago. But did you think he wouldn't come to DC to visit his old buddy José Andrés? Of course not.
The two are pairing up on September 29th for an "exclusive and intimate discussion" about their careers and Adrià's future, which includes his forthcoming cookbook The Family Meal: Home Cooking with Ferran Adrià. Tickets for the event at the Lisner Auditorium are already on sale for $40, which includes a copy of the book, and $20 without the book. Culinary students get tickets for $10. These are likely to sell quickly, so you might want to get on it. Also note that a portion of the proceeds will go to support Andrés' charities, World Central Kitchen and The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves.
