The Washington Post writes today about ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen and its lack of labeling when it comes to non-vegetarian ingredients. Apparently their curries are made with fish sauce and so they are not at all vegetarian-friendly. Some people are really upset about it! A rep for the restaurant explains that the staff is supposed to inform potential vegetarians about the curry, but also notes that "Fish sauce is practically the salt of Southeast Asian food. It’s used in practically everything. Curries are typically made with fish sauce, and ours are no exception.” [WaPo]
