FOOD TV—DCist reports that the Food Network's Heat Seekers is in town this week and was filming today at DC-3 on Barracks Row. Host Aaron Sanchez also brought his crew out to Cava yesterday and there is photographic evidence on Facebook. [DCist, Facebook]
FOOD TRUCKS—ARLnow brings word that a new food truck named Hot People has hit the streets of Arlington serving "modern Asian food" to all of the hot people of Arlington. Unfortunately, it does not appear that they will be denying service to those who are clearly not hot, but rather they claim their food will "bring out the hot person in you." Names of dishes include things like "pork belly dancer" and "pleasure chips." Yum. [ARLnow]
POP-UPS—Chez Billy is coming soon to the Petworth neighborhood, but first they'd like to try out their menu on some willing customers. Prince of Petworth reports that they're offering a three-course meal with wine pairings on January 20 at the Montserrat House in Shaw. The menu includes pate, lamb sausage and beef cheeks braised in red wine. There are two seatings available and tickets will set you back $55, available here. [PoP]
MT. VERNON SQUARE—If you've been to The Passenger since the New Year began, you might have noticed that it has a brand new bar top. According to DCist, they began the renovation on New Years Day, switching over to an exposed natural wood-grain top. [DCist]
