1) Brookland: Here's some good news for the residents of Brookland — they are about to get a new neighborhood pizzeria with a wood-fired oven imported from Naples. Prince of Petworth hears from the owners of Menomale that they already have a liquor license and could possibly open in mid-February. [PLYWOOD]
2) Columbia Heights: Now that Room 11 has announced its plans to expand into the space next door, the tiny Columbia Heights wine bar is keeping a blog documenting the progress of the renovations. As you can see from the photo above, they have begun demolition. [PLYWOOD]
3) Columbia Heights: Prince of Petworth reports that a place named Mad Momos is headed to 14th Street in Columbia Heights, serving global fusion. The idea is to open a beer garden in the back and perhaps open as soon as May. [PLYWOOD]
4) Columbia Heights: Prince of Petworth also reports that there will be a Turkish-Mexican restaurant named Dulcinea’s coming to Georgia Avenue in a few months. [PLYWOOD]
5) Atlas District: Frozen Tropics has a liquor license application from one DC Conscious Café, also serving global fusion. Also, there will be: "Social gatherings, book reading and speakers from the community." [PRE-PLYWOOD]
