They love their pop-ups over at Toki Underground and, in observation of next week's arrival of the Year of the Dragon, chef Erik Bruner-Yang has got a special one planned: a two-night tasting menu featuring guest appearances from other local chefs.
On January 24 and 25, respectively, Toki's own Thang Le and The Source's Scott Drewno will each take a night helming the kitchen at Toki to create an eight-course tasting menu that will be what the restaurant describes as a "modern rendition of classic Chinese New Year cuisine." No details yet for what the guest chefs have in store, but Bruner-Yang tells Eater that Drewno plans to stop by the kitchen soon to check out what kind of operations are possible in that small spot. Will keep you posted.
The restaurant is offering two seatings, at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., and reservations will be accepted for $65 per person — starting now at 202-388-3086. Considering how fast reservations went for Toki's duck dinner back in November, these will probably go quickly.
