Proposed Food Truck Regulations Released

As expected, the DC government has released a proposal of new regulations for food trucks — which include the creation of something called "vending development zones." The Washington Post explains that creation of these zones means "the number of sidewalk vendors, food trucks and even farmers markets would be capped at a certain number." Another of the proposals would allow trucks to park in a space for the full length of the meter rather than current rules that force them to leave after 10 minutes if there are no customers. There will now be a 30 day comment period on these proposals. [WaPo]
