If Craigslist is to be believed, it would appear that Michel Richard is joining Robert Wiedmaier among the restaurateurs headed to Atlantic City's forthcoming Revel hotel and casino. And it looks to be in a big way. A Philadelphia Craigslist ad seeking managers reads: "Come join the team at Michel Richard's Restaurants at Revel Resort and Casino. Chef Richard will be bringing three of his nationally successful concepts to Revel Atlantic City this spring." Eater reached out to a rep for the French chef for comment:
"I don't have anything to share at this point. Sorry. Nothing is official, nothing is confirmed. So I've got nothing to go on at this moment except what you see. Except for the Craigslist ad."
So, moving on to speculation. Richard has three restaurants — Central, Citronelle and Michel — but does the fast-casual Meatballs count as a possibility for one of these three concepts? Even though the extent of the chef's involvement in that enterprise has been called into question, there was much talk of franchising when it launched. Either way, the Press of Atlantic City hears rumors that Central will be one of the restaurants — not too surprising considering the chef recently opened a 24-version of the restaurant at Caesars Palace in Vegas.
