Introducing Chocolate City Beer-Infused Cupcakes

Well, DC is just all over the trend of taking poor, innocent cupcakes and filling them with booze. First Crunkcakes were getting people drunk all over H Street. Then PS 7's mixlogist Gina Chersevani introduced the world to Cuptails. DC is also on the craft beer train with new production breweries opening up left and right with more on the way. So obviously the next thing to do is push those trends together, right? OK, well, whether you're ready or not, it has been done. Introducing the DC Love Child, a cupcake made with Chocolate City Beer's Cerveza Nacional lager.

The brewery and local cupcake bakery Hello Cupcake are collaborating on this trend explosion of a craft beer cupcake: a chocolate lager cake topped with bourbon buttercream frosting and a chocolate covered potato chip. They're selling it starting Friday from Hello Cupcake's Dupont Circle and Capitol Hill locations for $3.50 apiece. But first, there is a "shot gun wedding" party at Nellie's on Thursday night at 7 p.m. With free beer because that is obviously what pairs with beer cupcakes.
