Congratulations, people who like free water, you have succeeded in the war against Elisir's 29-cent filtered water surcharge. The restaurant notified the public by way of Washingtonian critic Todd Kliman's online chat this morning that it has dropped the fee "implementing an a la carte bottle water charge of $3.95 instead. And of course, D.C.’s tap is always a free option." But will that be enough to pacify the angry free-water types? Kliman notes, "why not just filter the water and pass it on to your customers free of charge?" [The Washingtonian]
