A Revamped, More Casual 2941 Reopens in Falls Church

A mere month after having shuttered for renovations, 2941 reopens today in Falls Church with a more casual feel in order to draw in all those potential diners who might be put off by white tablecloths and tasting menus. Among the changes regulars can expect to see are expanded seating in the bar — with walls now dividing it from the dining room — more seating for large groups, a semi-circle booth facing the fireplace and new art on the walls. Gone are the jellyfish decorations and the tablecloths, while there's also new carpeting, tables, chairs and dishes.

Beyond that, there's also a revamped menu in place — presented on paper without menu jackets now — with a new "nosh" section featuring bites like blue truffle mac & cheese croquettes and Wagyu sliders. There are more pasta options now that the kitchen has a pasta station, and pastry chef Caitlin Dysart has taken over for Anthony Chavez, meaning that entire section is new, too. From now through February 9, the restaurant is offering a 12 percent discount on food as they ease into the transition. Here's the full menu:
