The past year or so has seen the proliferation of breweries in our nation's capital and now it seems we're moving on from beer to the hard stuff. The City Paper's Lydia DePillis reports that Schneider's beer buyer John Uselton has plans in the works to open up a distillery in Ivy City — which apparently would be the first in the District in 100 years. Based out of a warehouse behind Love Nightclub, the plan is to have gin out by this summer and whiskey out later. [WCP]
