1) Dupont Circle: Today is the big opening day for the very Irish pub named Irish Whiskey in Dupont, which, as has been noted, is bringing with it more than 50 brands of whiskey, more than 80 beers on tap and a members-only whiskey club. Executive chef Sean McIntosh's menu channels the Irish, too, with things like corned beef and cabbage spring rolls, a burger with Guinness mayo and a chicken sandwich marinated in Killians beer. Also, as Thrillist notes, the design scheme include "gleamingly polished whiskey barrels, modernly artful light fixtures hanging from pulleys, and even some of Chris Cooley's pottery." 2) Rosslyn: The very first Virginia location of Roti Mediterranean Grill has officially opened, serving the Chicago-based chain's typical fast-casual customizable menu of salads and sandwiches filled with your choice of chicken roti, falafel, kabob and more.
