The Windy Apple, Sweetgreen, Heritage India All Open

1) Falls Church: Don Rockwell reports that The Windy Apple, a Chicago-meets-New-York concept featuring hot dogs, knish, pastrami and more, has opened in part of the former Bangkok Blues space. The website seems to be a work in progress, but expect hot dogs with various toppings, burgers, pork chop sandwiches and more. Status: Certified open. 926A W. Broad St., Falls Church, Va.; website.

2) West End: Sweetgreen continues its takeover of the salad and fro-yo world with its latest location in the West End. The location is about 800 square feet in size. Status: Open today. 2238 M St. NW ; website.

3) Dupont Circle: After closing its Connecticut Ave. space in May, Heritage India has one of two new spaces open on P Street, Borderstan reports. The restaurant is located in the former Skewers space, and the menu is similar to the former location. Status: Certified open. 1633 P. St. NW; website.
