Could New York's Dos Caminos restaurant be eying the former Mie N Yu space in Georgetown? A commenter suggested as much when news broke of Mie N Yu's closing Monday. What's the story?
In short, it's a possibility, but definitely not a done deal. A source in the know tells Eater that the Mexican restaurant and tequila bar's parent company, BR Guest Hospitality, has looked at the space, but that there's no deal imminent for 3125 M St. NW. BR Guest has not yet responded to emails and calls seeking comment on whether they're looking around here.
There are several Dos Caminos restaurants in New York, as well as locations in Atlantic City and Ft. Lauderdale, and the company has been looking at expansion opportunities. The restaurant, from mogul Steve Hanson, has a reputation for being trendy and a fun place to drink (Eater NY does not recommend you bring the kids there, though the menu's pretty family-friendly. You know. Except for all that tequila).
