It's a busy week for Chef Frederik de Pue. Just a day after it was revealed the chef and his investors bought the former minibar building and will open a restaurant there, the owner of 42° Catering now has an approximate opening date and more details on his upcoming Table project in Shaw.
The restaurant at 903 N St. NW, according to a release, will open in the first week in November. The restaurant will have a small menu with daily specials and standard Belgian-influenced dishes, including items like frogs' legs, rabbit, scallops and homemade pastas.
Table will initially only be open for dinner and move into other meals such as brunch and lunch come February 2013. There will be craft beers and about 20 wines by the glass available, including some champagnes. The space used to be an auto repair shop, and is being restored with contemporary design and seating for about 75. Menus, decor and even staff aprons will change colors with the seasons. Expect a rooftop deck and a patio, too.
