EatsPlace Gives Itself Five Weeks to Get Funded

EatsPlace, the restaurant incubator hoping to open in the ParkView/Petworth area, has given itself five weeks to raise $25,000 or the concept isn't happening.

Katy Chang is the woman behind the project (she also develops homemade kimchee products through her company Artisinal Soy. Her plan for EatsPlace is for it to house a pop-up restaurant, a community kitchen that can be rented for commerial purposes and a market, all under one roof (sounds a bit like a more permanent version of ThinkLocalFirst and Domku's StartUp Kitchen project from this past summer, which featured pop-up DC Dosas).

Like many recent restaurants, such as Pleasant Pops and Righteous Cheese, Chang is turning to Kickstarter for her fundraising efforts. Looks like so far she has about $1,000 raised of the 25k needed. She'll keep trying until Nov. 27.
