Maddy's Tap Room, Haute Dogs and Fries Both Open

New, 4 comments

1) Downtown: Today is the big day for Maddy's Tap Room, the latest concept from the team behind Maddy's Bar & Grille. The self-described "Texican" restaurant notes on Facebook that this is more of a soft opening rather than a grand opening, but an employee confirms they opened up the doors this morning and they will remain open for the foreseeable future. Maddy's offers 40 beers on tap and a menu that Thrillist writes includes "slow-cooked El Paso brisket w/ mesquite potato salad, crock pot chicken criolla, and tomatillo relish-covered Cowboy rib eye." Full menus are available on the official website. Status: Soft open. 1100 13th Street NW; website

2) Old Town Alexandria: Patch brings the news that Haute Dogs and Fries officially opened a new location in Old Town on Friday, serving "more typical dogs with relish, mayo and mustard but also menu items such as The Bombshell, which comes covered in carmelized onions, mango, pineapple and jalapenos." Beyond hot dogs and, of course, fries, the restaurant will also serve lobster rolls, nachos and, eventually, beer. Status: Certified open. 610 Montgomery Street, Alexandria; website
