Victor Albisu Launches Taco Bamba Pop-Up at Black Jack

There's only a vague "late fall" date for the opening of Victor Albisu's forthcoming Falls Church taqueria Taco Bamba, but soon enough District residents will get a chance to test-drive the menu on Monday nights at Black Jack. That's right, the former BLT Steak chef has announced that he's doing a series of pop-up nights at the hot 14th Street bar while Taco Bamba — now with fancy new website — gets ready for primetime out in Virginia.

The pop-ups will begin on October 22 with a party that's open to the public with unlimited food and cocktails for $40. Then, from October 29 to December 17, Taco Bamba begins popping up in earnest on Monday nights from 6-11 p.m. "with an a la carte menu of tacos, snacks and anything Chef Albisu decides to test that week," per the press release. Here's a look at a sample menu for Taco Bamba, which includes the likes of the Taco Bamba (skirt steak, chorizo and chicharones), the Crispy Kiss Taco (pork tongue, beef tongue, scallions, red chili aioli).
