Minibar Opening Pushed Back To Nov. 7

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Way to keep eager diners away from their olive oil bonbons, Hurricane Sandy. Because of permitting delays associated with the weather, the new incarnation of José Andrés restaurant Minibar will not open until Nov. 7. The news was first Tweeted by Jessica Sidman, and here's a statement from a spokesman.

While minibar's schedule was on track, the citywide shutdowns due to Hurricane Sandy caused a minor delay in our final inspections and permits. We are currently working with guests who had reservations for November 2nd, 3rd, and 6th and finding alternate dates to accommodate their availability and have them enjoy the ultimate minibar experience.

Eater readers got a sneak peek of what diners can expect from the new minibar, courtesy of a Harvard lecture by Andrés last week. The restaurant has been taking reservations by email a month ahead of opening dates.
