PENN QUARTER— Could a cookbook hold the answers to what exactly is going on with PS7's? Young & Hungry leafs through Washington DC's Chef's Table, which lists the Penn Quarter restaurant as "closed but not forgotten." The author told Y&H that this news came from a restaurant rep. The possibility of the restaurant's closure was first raised by Dining Bisnow last week, but chef/owner Peter Smith told Eater there was "nothing to talk about." [WCP]
14TH STREET— There's an opening date for the newest location of Matchbox: Nov. 30. The restaurant will be supervised by executive chef Jeffrey Richardson and general manager Michelle Hebert, both of whom were promoted from within. [EaterWire]
H STREET NE— It's all about North Carolina tonight over at Boundary Road, where they're hosting a night dedicated to the state's beer and cuisine. There will be 18 beers from 11 North Carolina breweries showcased at the event (none of these are currently available in the DC market), plus food like fried pimento cheese tea sandwiches. It starts at 5 while supplies last. [EaterWire]
