Two DC Chefs Challenged by Chopped This Month

Two local chefs had to face that dreaded box that can contain everything from pig tails to persimmon on episodes of Food Network's Chopped airing this November.

The first was a guest on the show's "Unsung Heroes" special, which features chefs in less glamorous but more charity-minded roles. That was Grace Lichaa, who manages the Capital Area Food Bank. HuffPo checked in with Lichaa, whose episode appeared on Election Night and aired again last night. So far, the extent of the impact she's seen from appearing on the show: one person recognized her at a party.

Meanwhile, Will Artley of Pizzeria Orso fame is clearly psyched about his upcoming Chopped appearance, given his Tweet above. Artley is scheduled to appear on the show Nov. 25, and it will be the chef's first appearance on national television. He's throwing a big viewing party over at the Falls Church pizza restaurant that night, beginning at 8:30 p.m., serving food from the show and eggnog slushies (yes, the episode is holiday themed).
