Dan O'Brien Is Done with Fried Chicken & Donuts (Updated)

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Is Dan O'Brien is done with fried chicken & donuts? The Seasonal Pantry Twitter account sent the above Tweet today. C&D=chicken and donuts? Is O'Brien shifting his focus to a beef-centered fast food enterprise instead? Eater has reached out to Seasonal Pantry to find out what's going on, and will update as soon as they respond.

UPDATE: "It's over. Done. Everyone followed us, and now, we're moving on to something new," O'Brien said when reached via phone Friday. He wouldn't give any more info about what his new concept would be, though beef does not refer to burgers. "Come on," he said. Election Day will be the last day for the chicken takeout special at Seasonal Pantry, too.

The news isn't necessarily surprising. The chef was upset when Neighborhood Restaurant Group announced a similar concept back in early October. He had been mulling the same theme, and had scouted out four different locations for the endeavor. Meanwhile, since then, Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken said it would be bringing the duo of fried foods to the Metro Center area. O'Brien is about to appear on the latest season of Top Chef.
