Though longtime Washington seafood restaurant Kinkead's still has about a month of operations left before it closes its doors at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave., those who visited the restaurant over the years have already begun reminiscing about it on Twitter and Facebook. It's clear the restaurant was once the place where people celebrated milestones, from anniversaries to graduations.

@toddkliman: Sad news.

@vtHokies98: Wow!!!! So many great places have left DC.

@SamsGoodMeats: First fancy/good meal I had when I moved to DC

@jessweiss1: High school graduation meal! Memories!

@StephBDC: Wow-end of an era

@TasteDC: wow, DC Institution!

@chatelainedc: Sad to hear this, love this place...

Fans also weighed in on the restaurant's Facebook page. "So sad. The best place in the world to dine," said Joyce Kinkead. "Unlike button," said Todd Shiller.
