Where You'll Find Astro Doughnuts Come January

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken has been keeping its location vague since announcing its impending arrival in 2013. "Near Metro Center" is about as specific as Jason Gehring's pastry and poultry shop has been — until now. The restaurant has released its address: 1308 G St. NW. It plans to open its doors in January.

In the meantime, though, anyone dying for a taste of those doughnuts can order them through the shop's catering menu, which is now accepting orders. Gehring will offer five standard flavors each day: vanilla glazed, Brooklyn blackout, maple bacon, peanut butter and jelly and crème brulle, and then have a rotating doughnut menu with 10 additional selections each day. For example, on Monday you can get flavors like lemon blueberry and salted caramel, while Thursday's selections will include gingerbread and grapefruit.

The doughnut shop will deliver to an area between 9th and 15th Streets, NW and E and H Streets, NW, before opening, and offer in-store pickup and a wider delivery range once the store gets off the ground. More info is on the shop's website.
