Where To Raise A Glass On Repeal Day 2012

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

The end of Prohibition is clearly a toast-worthy occasion. Here are four places where you can raise a glass to the freedom to imbibe when Repeal Day arrives next week on Dec. 5.

The place: Last Exit (Mount Pleasant)
The gist: Starting at 7 p.m., head to Last Exit and sample a variety of craft cocktails, and participate in a toasting contest. The winner will get a $50 gift card and lead the bar in the celebratory Champagne toast at midnight.
More info: Available here.

The place: Jack Rose (Adams Morgan)
The gist: Jack Rose's Repeal Day Party ($20) will be hosted in two separate rooms: the Roosevelt Room on the second floor balcony and the new Basement Punch Bar. The festivities start at 10 p.m. There's a dinner earlier in the night, but it's sold out.
More info: Available here.

The place: Hill Center (Capitol Hill)
The gist: The annual Repeal Day Ball hosted by the DC Craft Bartenders' Guild has always been the signature event for the pseudo-holiday. Tickets are $100, and the event has an open bar, food, dancing and a VIP ticket option.
More info: Available here.

The place: Firefly (Dupont)
The gist: Jon Harris has put together an entirely separate cocktail menu of Prohibition-era drinks to mark the occasion. The drinks will cost $10 all night long at the Kimpton bar and restaurant.
More info: Available here.
