The DC outpost of Russian restaurant Mari Vanna will be the largest location to date for the restaurant group, according to a spokeswoman.
The restaurant, which is the sixth for the company (there are U.S. restaurants in New York and LA), will span three floors. The first floor will have an open kitchen and a bar. The second floor will house a more formal dining area and the third floor will have a private cocktail lounge (a first for the company) and additional dining space. The thought behind the design is that the higher you go, the more elaborate the experience, the spokeswoman said. Expect a similar menu to the other U.S. concepts, which offer dishes like stroganoff and lamb chops. The restaurant is opening in Dupont Circle by mid-January.
