Golden. Brown. Delicious. That's what the initials "GBD" stand for in Neighborhood Restaurant Group's upcoming fried chicken & donuts restaurant in the former Yola space.
Justin Rude gets some more details on the upcoming restaurant. Apparently "GBD" is also a widely used industry term when a chef wants potatoes or fish cooked that way. The restaurant will have about 20 beers on draft (which is small for an NRG place, as beer director Greg Engert points out). On the cocktails side, punches will be the program's emphasis. Though the restaurant won't be open until December, pastry chef Tiffany MacIssac will be making their signature donuts at a pop-up event for Amanda McClements Salt & Sundry retail shop at Union Market this weekend.
