After a few soft opening meals, Leek American Bistro is officially open in Ballston. The restaurant announced its opening and posted its hours for lunch, dinner, brunch and happy hour on Facebook.
The restaurant, from partners Nathan V. Spittal and Joe D'Jassebi, emphasizes Virginia wines and American regional dishes, from Maryland crab cakes to the Louisville Hot Brown (a turkey and bacon sandwich with Mornay sauce, if you aren't familiar). The drinks list sports a handful of speciality cocktails, plus a bourbon, tequila and Tennessee whiskey selection. Plus, lest we forget, there's complimentary bread.
Spittal is a veteran of such restaurants as Caucus Room and the former Nathan's, and also used to run the BBQ Banditos food truck.
