The New Minibar Now Open in Penn Quarter

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

It's bigger. It's sexier. It's pricier. And it's open. It's the new Minibar by José Andrés.

The restaurant started taking reservations via email (a new policy) back in early October for its seatings (24 people can get in per night, at staggered times). Prices for the multi-course, experimental tasting menu of little bites are $225 per person, plus wine pairings.

The restaurant's new sleek look is courtesy of Juli Capella of Spain, with DC firm CORE lending local assistance as well. Eater readers got an early peek at what the restaurant looks like inside, thanks to a conceptual video Andrés showed at his Harvard lecture last month.
