Could Stephen Starr Have His Eye on Georgetown?

DC Magazine drops an interesting tease in their recent piece on Washington Harbour. Talking about new and upcoming additions to the development, including Farmers Fishers Bakers and Omar Popal's Malmaison, it reads:

"It's going to feel like Williamsburg, Brooklyn, an edgy industrial place where poets, artists and musicians can come," says Omar Popal, who also trumpeted unconfirmed rumors that Philadelphia mogul Stephen Starr will open a second DC restaurant...nearby on Wisconsin Ave.

Putting dubious comparisons to Williamsburg aside, is Starr heading to Georgetown? A spokeswoman says no. "Beyond Le Diplomate, Stephen Starr doesn't have any additional restaurants planned for DC," she said.

Le Diplomate, a French bistro similar to Starr's Parc in Philly, is scheduled to open next winter on 14th Street. He's also bringing his El Vez Mexican restaurant to New York.
