Five More Details About Del Campo, Coming Next Spring

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

News broke late yesterday that Del Campo is the latest project from Victor Albisu, of Taco Bamba and BLT Steak fame. From a press release, here are six more things to know about the restaurant, which will open next spring in the former PS7's space.

*Albisu has 5,800 square feet to play with at the new location when working on the layout of the new restaurant. It will seat 115, plus a 50 seat bar, where you'll find coffee and pastries by day, and eventually, a 40 seat patio.

*Though there will be cocktails like pisco sours, wine is the big focus of the beverage menu. A big portion of the wine list will be populated by South American varietals, though other world wines will be featured.

*Though Jeff Black is a partner and investor in the restaurant, he will not have a hand in the menu design.

*Albisu grew up working in his mother's Latin market learning how to butcher from Argentinian and Uruguayan professionals. His grandfather was a Cuban baker, which has partially inspired the sweet and savory empanadas he will serve at Del Campo.

*Cuts and types of meat that you'll see at the restaurant include wagyu skirt steak, short ribs, chorizo, blood sausage and sweetbreads.
