Peter Smith Loves the 'Snap of the Dog' At Bold Bite

The DC area is home to a lot of restaurants, and among them are hidden gems that many Washingtonians aren't unearthing. To help guide us to these potential discoveries, we've enlisted some of our city's many food players to share with us their under the radar recommendations for Dining Confidential.

bold-bite-250.jpgWhere can a top notch chef go to find food that pleases both him and his kids? Bold Bite does the trick for PS 7's chef, owner and self-professed hot dog fiend Peter Smith.

"My days off from the restaurant are few and far between and it's a real treat for me to take my kids to Bold Bite Bethesda. It's a comfortable stop for us, especially right after my daughter's dance class. My go-to order is the BLT Dog with all the toppings including lettuce, tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon, and aioli on a toasted, hot buttered bun. Those toppings really bring the texture and balance, but what gets me every time is that snap of the dog. Plus, the fries are great too. You just can't go wrong.

All the small details are why I love it so much and why I keep on coming back. It's a small, independent restaurant that does it right.  Good beers on tap, convenient location, not to mention I am an absolute hot dog fiend."
