Congratulations are in order today for Chris Ford, officially the winner of Food & Wine's inaugural People's Best New Pastry Chef award. Though he's now based in our neighboring city of Baltimore — running the pastry show at Michael Mina's recently opened Wit & Wisdom — Ford worked for years in the DC area before splitting for Baltimore in October. Notably, he was the pastry genius at Trummer's on Main lured away by RJ Cooper to help open Rogue 24 last summer.
As a reward for his win, Ford will get a profile in the May issue of the magazine as well as an invite to the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen this June. Eater National's got some more detail on the win plus a full list of the winners. Many congrats!
