Shaw's Tavern Reopens, But Still Without a Liquor License

Here's some good news for the people of Shaw leading into this holiday weekend: Shaw's Tavern has officially reopened as of this morning. Of course, there's bad news too in that the restaurant has still not obtained its liquor license and so it will not be open in the evenings for the foreseeable future. TBD noticed the opening announcement on the Shaw's Tavern Facebook page this morning and general manager Reza Akhavan confirms to Eater that basically they got bored waiting around for that license to come in and decided to open up some limited hours.

So here's the deal: Shaw's Tavern will be open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. serving a light breakfast and lunch menu with complimentary WiFi as an added bonus. On weekends, they'll be serving brunch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — no mimosas or Bloodys, but there will be hot chocolate at least? As for that liquor license, Akhavan says the restaurant's owner talked with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration authorities last week and it's still in process and could take up to 90 days more to sort out.
