This past weekend was the big pop-up preview of Mike Isabella's forthcoming Georgetown restaurant Bandolero, held at the new LivingSocial event space in Penn Quarter. The five-course dinner was open to anyone willing to shell out $119 — and, of course, lots of media people from Brightest Young Things and Yeas and Nays to the City Paper and the Washingtonian.
Beyond being an opportunity to build up buzz for the place, it was also a chance for Isabella to test out some dishes as he figures out what'll make the cut for Bandolero's actual menu — which the chef says is going to be all about tacos and strong drinks. By all accounts on Sunday night, those mahi mahi tacos had better stick around. Here's the menu from the preview night:
