Marcus Samuelsson Consulting at the Howard Theatre

Howard Theatre: Facebook

The Howard Theatre announced the news this afternoon that not only is it set to reopen in April with big-name performers, but also that it has nabbed a big-name chef to consult on its supper club: one Marcus Samuelsson. Yes, the very fashionable, shoe-designing chef behind Harlem's Red Rooster — or, perhaps more specifically, his restaurant group — will be in charge of designing both the dinner and the brunch menus, appointing an executive chef and training the staff. According to the Washingtonian, there will be "a weekly Sunday brunch featuring the Harlem Gospel Choir" and food that reflects Samuelsson's background.
