Why does everyone love cupcakes so damn much? The Washington Post poses this question to a bunch of psychologist-types who all have theories like that people have a "desire for experiences," are "hungry for hugs" or are displaying a "narcissism born of the Internet." As one psychotherapist warns: "Through cupcakes, seemingly innocent little 'treats,' we can project fantasies of who and what we desire to be. Instead of connecting us to others, however, cupcakes keep us separate and add to our sense of isolation." Uh oh. [WaPo]
